Transportation Options
- Monday-Friday: Owensboro Transit System will provide free bus transportation to Daniel Pitino Shelter between 4-6 p.m. on White Flag nights.
- Note: Inform the driver you are going to the White Flag shelter.
- Saturday-Sunday: Contact the Daniel Pitino Shelter at 270-688-9000 for transportation assistance.
- Self-Transportation: Guests may transport themselves to the shelter from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Overnight Pet Sheltering Available
Overnight pet accommodations are available on White Flag nights for homeless or unhoused individuals seeking shelter.
- Details:
- Pets will be kept in cages with blankets in an insulated, heated garage (temperature set at 60°F).
- Evening meal and water will be provided.
- Hours are 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Pets will be picked up at CrossRoads, St. Benedict’s, or Daniel Pitino Shelter at 8 p.m. and returned to the same location at 5 a.m.
- If the owner is not present for pickup, pets will be taken to Daviess County Animal Care and Control.
