DCSO: Utica man arrested in child sex abuse case

A 24-year-old Utica man has been arrested following a child sex abuse investigation, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a release, investigators with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Investigations Unit and General Investigations Unit executed an arrest warrant on December 2 on Joshua A. Johnson of the 9100 block of Todd Bridge Road.  

The investigation began in November 2024 and involved a juvenile victim under the age of 12  years old, according to DCSO. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible, officials said.

Johnson was arrested and taken to the Daviess County Detention Center on charges of first-degree sodomy (victim under 12 years old) and first-degree sexual abuse (victim under 12 years old).
