Owensboro and Trinity both won on the road while both Owensboro Catholic and Daviess County fell short.

Calloway County 44, Daviess County 43

Daviess County’s Kennedy Lane led all scorers with 22 points, but Calloway County hit a last-second shot to beat the Lady Panthers 44-43. Lily Hoagland was second on Daviess County in scoring with 11 points, while Zoey Beehn added seven rebounds, six points, two blocks, and one steal.

“My kids fought hard,” Daviess County head coach Natalie Payne said. “We just didn’t come out on top. I was really proud of the effort.”

Owensboro 63, Pearl Cohn-Business Magnet School (Nashville), TN 58

Shalyn Sprinkles recorded a team-high 29 points, 18 of which came in the second half to help lead Owensboro to a 63-58 win over Pearl Cohn-Business Magnet School. Abby Sapp finished with nine points, while Unique Carter-Swanagan and Gizelle Whitlock each added six points.

“I was proud of my team and how they finished the game,” Owensboro head coach Jansen Locher said. “We gave up our lead in the second half, but we stuck together and got the stops on the defensive end that we needed to win.”

Bardstown 57, Owensboro Catholic 53

Riley Karmin led the Lady Aces with 17 points, including three threes as they fell to Bardstown 57-53 at home.

“As good as we played in the third quarter, we played just as bad in the fourth,” Owensboro Catholic head coach Michael Robertson said. “That one’s on me. We have to do a better job.”

Trinity 61, Dawson Springs 27

It was a total team effort for the Lady Raiders as 12 different players scored in their 61-27 win over Dawson Springs. Preslee Meserve led the team in scoring with 11 points, while Rylynee Meserve, Ella Morris, and Sarah Payne added eight points each.

“The girls played good defense, boxed out better, and worked together as a team,” Trinity head coach Emily Hernandez said. “It was a good team effort today.”
