Daviess County went 2-0 in their dual meet while Trinity fell short on the road.

Daviess County Vs. Owensboro Catholic Vs. Trigg County

Competing against Owensboro Catholic and Trigg County, Daviess County wrestling flexed their dominance, finishing 2-0 on the day. The Panthers beat Owensboro Catholic 68-6 and Trigg County 66-6.

“I thought we wrestled well, but we are still making a lot of mistakes that are costing us points,” Daviess County head coach Colton Gonzalez said. “We’re leaving a lot of points off the board by not capitalizing on the little things, or worse, giving those points to our opponents. It is correctable actions and it gives us a sense of direction on how to improve and get better for the following week.”

Trinity Vs. Rowan Vs. East Carter Vs. West Carter

It was all about experience for Trinity as they fell to Rowan 68-6, East Carter 42-15, and West Carter 36-24. For the Raiders, Tristan Ward, Owen Hamilton, and Rylan McCoy finished 3-1, 2-1, and 3-2.

“We are improving every day,” Trinity head coach Curtis Martinson said. “It takes a lot of courage and fight to just get inside the circle. Giving your all every day when you know the kids are older and more experienced, but yet that’s what these kids do. They never complain and ask for more. I love my kids and we will get there.”
