On Thursday, the GO Junior Golf Series held its most recent tournament at the Ben Hawes Golf Course, with 125 juniors participating. In the 3-hole division, Owensboro’s JP Cousins (14) and Bowling Green’s Caroline McElroy (16) won for the boys and girls 8-under age group, while over in the 6-hole division, Dixon’s Connor Hudson (24) and Central City’s Ainsley Morris (33) won for the boys and girls 9-10 age group.
In the 9-hole division, Leitchfield’s Mason Day (38) and Clarkson’s Brinley Cox (43) won for the boys and girls 11-12 age group, while Henderson’s Evan Dalton (41) and Owensboro’s Catherine Ray 50 won for the boys and girls 13-15 age group. Dalton edged out Owensboro Raylen Brown in a playoff after both shot 41.
In the 18-hole division, Owensboro’s Hudson Phelps (80) beat Henderson’s Mason Ranes in a playoff to win the 13-15 boys championship, while Owensboro’s Briley Billingsley (78) won the girls 13-15 championship.
Owensboro’s Luke Estes won the boys 16-18 championship after shooting 74, while Owensboro’s Macy Roberts (107) narrowly edged out Owensboro’s Ava Settles (108) by one stroke to win the girls 16-18 championship.
