Having advanced to the All-A State Tournament, Owensboro Catholic finished sixth, shooting 429. Ava Settles led the way for the Lady Aces, shooting 101, while Emma Lanham (102), Catherine Ray (104), and Isabella Hodskins (122) rounded out the team’s top four scores.
“This golf course was a brutal walk and set up super tough for the championship,” Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Easten Henry said. “The girls played in a steady rain from the first tee to the last green. We certainly left a few strokes out there, but the courage and grit the girl showed was phenomenal. Quite frankly, given the conditions, I thought the girls were very mature about it and handled it like pros. To be honest, I couldn’t be happier with my group. Two of my seniors couldn’t compete this weekend, so we really needed the freshmen to step up in their place, and they certainly did.”
