OCTC to host preadmission conference for veterinary technology program

Owensboro Community & Technical College will host a Veterinary Technology Program preadmission conference on September 9. The conference is a required step for prospective students interested in applying to the program.

The event is set for 5 p.m. at the OCTC Downtown Campus Veterinary Technology Teaching Hospital, 1501 Frederica Street.

Attendees will learn about application requirements, the curriculum, career opportunities, and clinical experiences available to students.

Participants will also tour the Veterinary Technology Teaching Hospital, where students receive hands-on training in animal care, laboratory procedures, surgical assisting, and more.

OCTC’s Veterinary Technology program awards an Associate in Applied Science degree upon completion. Graduates are eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Exam, which is required for certification.
