Owensboro dropped a heartbreaker to South Warren, and Owensboro Catholic beat Foundation Christian Academy.

Trailing 3-0, Owensboro scored two goals in the second half, but were unable to complete the comeback in their 3-2 loss to South Warren. Jackson Sigler found Kyle Hardison with 22 minutes left in the second half for the Red Devils’ first goal of the game. Peter Mbayo cut the lead to 3-2 on a penalty kick and the Red Devils had opportunities down the stretch, but were unable to find the equaliazer.
“We fell short, but our players and coaches were extremely happy with the fight and determination we saw from our side,” Owensboro Head Coach Ryan Haley said.
Owensboro Catholic 2, Foundation Christian Academy 1
In the regular season finale, Owen Brey and Andrew Bailey both scored in the Aces 2-1 win over Foundation Christian Academy. JW Kurtz found Brey in the first half for the first goal of the game, before FCA tied in in the second half. With a few minutes remaining, Colton Wallace found Bailey for the game winner. Jace Obermeier finished with four saves in net.
“This was a big result for us and a great performance. One that we can build on and gives us momentum as we enter the postseason,” Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Andy Donohoe said. “It was a tough game and I am really proud of our resilience. We could have gone into a shell after FCA scored late to tie it, but instead we regrouped and scored the game-winner a few minutes later.”
