Daviess County Sheriff’s Office arrests Owensboro man on fentanyl trafficking charge

Detectives with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit arrested 37-year-old Jamal Delonte Huggins of Owensboro on Monday in connection with a fentanyl trafficking investigation, according to a release from the department.

According to a release, the investigation began October 1 when detectives acted on community tips and executed a search warrant on a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Walnut Street. Authorities said they found 75 fentanyl pills and $1,300 in cash inside the vehicle.

DCSO saidHuggins was later located at a residence in the 300 block of Rudy Road and taken into custody. He was booked into the Daviess County Detention Center and charged with aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance — over 10 grams of carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives, according to the release.
