Apollo dominated on all three phases of the ball Friday night to beat Marshall County 49-6 and earn their third straight win.

The Eagles struck twice in the first quarter, with Ross Milburn bouncing into the endzone from three yards out and later QB Max Johnson finding Landen Bratcher from five yards out for a 14-0 lead. Early in the second quarter, Johnson connected with Brandon Mattingly to push the lead to 21-0.

With just under five minutes remaining in the opening half, Ehmadjai Badger hauled in a 15-yard touchdown reception for a commanding 28-0 lead. Marshall County avoided the shutout by scoring on their next possession, but Apollo immediately responded.

Max Johnson found Badger for their second touchdown connection of the night, this time from 60 yards for a 35-6 lead. A few plays later, the Eagles forced and recovered a fumble, culminating in a JT Edge touchdown reception and a 42-6 halftime lead.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Eagles found the endzone one last time after Brody Jones threw his first touchdown of the night, connecting with Kaine Green for a 15-yard strike.

“Our offense, defense, and special teams all played together tonight,” Apollo Head Coach John Edge said. “I am proud of the players and their performance tonight.”

Next Friday, Apollo hosts Daviess County in the regular season finale.
