Grind Session, a winter circuit where some of the top high school basketball players in the country compete, has partnered with Daviess County High School’s boys’ basketball program. From Dec. 4-7, Owensboro Sportscenter will be hosting The Grind Session, where the Panthers will also be one of the competing teams.

The two released a joint statmement announcing the partnership.

“Daviess County High School Boys Basketball is thrilled to announce a major partnership with Grind Session. From December 4th-7th, the Owensboro Sportscenter will transform into the epicenter of high-level hoops as it hosts some of the nation’s top teams and elite players. Get ready for four days of high-energy matchups, big-time talent, and unforgettable basketball action.”

A total of 19 games will be played across the four days, with the Panthers scheduled to play Albuquerque Prep that Friday at 7 pm.

Some of the top players from around the country competing include Gillion Academy’s Marcis Ponder and Willie Burnett III, and Zephyrhills Christians’ Tony Bryant, all of whom are ranked in ESPN’s Top 100 prospects. This will also be an opportunity to see the 3rd Region defending champion Panthers, who have added a few new pieces.

“I think this is a really neat opportunity,” Daviess County Head Coach Neil Hayden said. “I hope the community gets behind this and will come to some of these games. These are some of the best players that will have ever come through Owensboro. It’s a big deal.”
