The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people Wednesday following a search warrant execution that uncovered evidence of a drug trafficking operation in Owensboro.

According to the DCSO, members of the Special Investigations Unit, General Investigations Unit, and Patrol Division executed a warrant at a residence in the 3000 block of Veach Road. The location was identified after detectives received information about possible drug activity there.

Upon entering the home, detectives reportedly found multiple people inside along with evidence consistent with drug trafficking. Deputies seized what the sheriff’s office described as trafficking amounts of methamphetamine in various rooms, along with marijuana, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, suboxone pills, unidentified pills, and syringes.

Four suspects — 30-year-old Corby Tram Newton, 36-year-old Charles Lee Buchanan, 29-year-old Darah-Jo Hatton Thrasher, and 20-year-old Angel Danielle Duke — were arrested and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.

Newton faces multiple charges, including first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth), possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served with warrants for failure to appear on a child support case and probation violations related to previous drug and weapons offenses.

Buchanan, Thrasher, and Duke were each charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth), possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the release, Thrasher also faces an additional contempt of court charge related to a drug court violation in Franklin County.

The DCSO stated that several of the suspects had active warrants before the search, and the investigation into the case remains ongoing.
