McLean County took down Owensboro, while Apollo and Daviess County both won. In other action, Trinity (Whitesville) lost on the road.
Apollo 58, Ballard Memorial 39
Kayden Green scored 13 of his team-high 20 points in the first half as Apollo beat Ballard Memorial 58-39 in the Eagle Classic. Tate Powers added 18 points, and Carlos Cruz finished with 13 points.
“This was another great year of the Eagle Classic,” Apollo Head Coach Ryne Tinsley said. “This was a great response over the last two days.”
Daviess County 82, Heritage Hills (Lincoln City), IN 53
It was a balanced offensive attack for the Panthers as all five starters finished in double digits in their 82-53 win over Heritage Hills. Jonathan Moss led the way with 24 points and seven assists, and DeAaron Watkins had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Davynn Randolph hit five threes, and Michael Acton and Lemontae Ratcliff both had 10 points.
McLean County 53, Owensboro 46
Layden Bozarth led the way with 17 points and Camden Baird added 12 points in the Cougars 53-46 win over Owensboro. Jaelin Groves finished with 12 points and eight rebounds, and Brooks Lynam also grabbed eight boards.
“We played really well,” McLean County Head Coach Darren Lynam said. “Our defense was really solid the entire game.”
For the Red Devils, Kade Arnold hit three threes to go along with his team-high 17 points, and DaMarcus Ganaway Jr. added 12 points.
Dawson Springs 69, Trinity (Whitesville) 57
Harrison Barnett scored 14 of his team-high 22 points in the second half as the Raiders fell to Dawson Springs 69-57. Mason Smith and Ian Roby both had nine points, and Thomas Payne and Cale Boarman both had five points.
“We battled back after digging ourselves a huge deficit in the first half, and I am proud of our grit,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Nathan West said. “I hate to learn from a loss, but we have to take this out of this game; we have to be more disciplined with our shot selection, and we have to be more physical on the glass.”
