The Daviess County Coroner has ruled a shooting incident early Monday morning as a murder-suicide.
Coroner Jeff Jones confirmed the manner of death Monday evening.
According to a redacted incident report from the Owensboro Police Department, the shooting occurred in the 100 block of Shelly Drive at approximately 12:20 a.m.
“It’s an ongoing investigation and CID is looking into it,” said Owensboro Police Department Public Information Officer Mark Hammonds. “We are not releasing any of the details of the investigation at this time.”
The incident report had few details. It listed the type of incident as “shooting” with the description as “murder – domestic violence.” The report shows that a Taurus revolver was recovered from the scene. All other information was redacted.
OPD and the coroner have not released the names of those involved as of Monday evening, nor have they provided additional information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
