Daviess County swept their tripleheader, while Owensboro beat Union County. In other action, the Lady Aces split their doubleheader, and the Lady Raiders fell to North Hardin.
Lady Panthers sweep tripleheader
It was a busy day for the Lady Panthers, as they beat Gordonsville 3-2, Independence 9-0, and South Gibson 10-1. Against South Gibson, Briley Henry went 1-3 with three RBIs and a homer, Molly Hancock drove in a pair of runs, and Shelby Bennett, Annie Newman, Callie Smith, and Storey Hume all drove in runs. Hume threw a complete game in the circle, giving up one unearned run, while striking out three.
Owensboro 10, Union County 7
The Lady Devils scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back, beating Union County 10-7. Hayley Sikes went 2-4 with two RBIs, while Sydney Stallings, Taylor Sowders, Jalea Sanford, and India Allgood all drove in runs. Railey Scott threw a complete game in the circle, allowing six earned runs over seven innings, striking out two.
Owensboro Catholic splits doubleheader
In a doubleheader, the Lady Aces fell to Graves County 8-5, but cruised past Lyon County 10-1. Against Lyon County, Anna Hamilton, Lily Logsdon, and Carley Brey combined for eight hits and seven RBIs, while Avery O’Bryan went 1-3 with an RBI. Ava Mudd threw a complete game in the circle, allowing one earned run over 5 2/3 innings, striking out seven.
North Hardin 7, Trinity (Whitesville) 2
Tied 2-2 entering the top of the fifth, the Lady Raiders were unable to break through, falling to North Hardin 7-2. Ella Morris went 2-3 with an RBI, Maggie Morris drove in a run, and Avary Emmick went 1-2 and scored a run. Ella Morris started in the circle, allowing three earned runs over five innings, while Michaela Knight pitched two innings in relief.
