Western Kentucky University in Owensboro is adding a bachelor’s degree program in human resource management starting this fall. Registration is now open.

The program, offered through WKU’s Gordon Ford College of Business, will be the 14th degree that students can complete entirely at the Owensboro campus.

University officials said the program is designed to meet workforce demand while providing students with practical, career-ready skills. Courses will be offered through a combination of online and in-person instruction, allowing students in the region to complete the degree close to home.

The Gordon Ford College of Business and the program are accredited by AACSB International, a distinction considered the highest standard for business programs, university officials said.

“The continued growth of WKU in Owensboro reflects a strong commitment to expanding access and opportunity for students in the region,” said Dr. Derick Strode, director of WKU regional campuses. “We are proud to bring the AACSB-accredited, internationally recognized human resources program to WKU in Owensboro so our students can train to become our area’s next generation of leaders without having to leave our community.”

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for human resource specialists and managers is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations.

Students interested in the program can schedule an appointment here with a WKU in Owensboro academic advisor or visit the university’s website for more information.

University officials said the addition aligns with WKU in Owensboro’s ongoing efforts to expand access to higher education and support regional workforce development.
