Two tornadoes touched down in and around McLean County late Monday night into early Tuesday morning, with one reaching EF-1 strength near Livermore, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.
Officials said the stronger tornado developed just after midnight, tracking through parts of McLean County near Livermore. Survey teams determined it was an EF-1, with peak winds estimated at 95 mph. The tornado was on the ground from 12:08-12:15 a.m., carving a path roughly 6.31 miles long and up to 125 yards wide, according to the NWS.
Officials said the storm caused extensive tree damage along its path, snapping trunks and uprooting trees. Two homes sustained significant damage after trees fell onto them, while other structures had roof and exterior damage. A few power poles were also impacted. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

Earlier in the night, a weaker EF-0 tornado touched down near Ashbyburg and Jewel City. Officials said that the tornado had estimated peak winds of 85 mph and remained on the ground from approximately 11:56-11:59 p.m., traveling 3.22 miles with a maximum width of 50 yards.
Damage from that storm included snapped and uprooted trees, downed large limbs, and broken components on electrical transmission lines, according to the NWS. Straight-line winds were also reported in the surrounding area. No injuries or deaths were reported.

The National Weather Service uses the Enhanced Fujita Scale to classify tornado strength, with EF-0 storms producing winds of 65 to 85 mph and EF-1 storms ranging from 86 to 110 mph.
