Looking to continue their dynasty, Owensboro Middle School boys’ track and field team left no doubt over the weekend, scoring 65 points to win their third straight State Championship. Owensboro beat second-place East Hardin Middle School by 21 points, while Boyle County Middle School placed third.
Owensboro won the 4×100, 4x200m, and 4x800m relays, posting times of 45.73, 1:35.72, and 9:00.21, the fastest in the state this year for each event. They also finished second in the triple jump and the 4x400m relay, were third in the discus, and placed fifth in the high jump and pole vault.
Their other finishes included placing sixth in the 100m hurdles, seventh in the 3200m, 11th in the javelin, 13th in the shot put, 20th in the long jump, 29th in the 400m, 32nd in the 100m, 34th in the 1600m, and 38th in the 300m.
