Cravens Pool is closed for the remainder of the 2026 season due to unforeseen mechanical issues, according to the Owensboro Parks & Recreation Department.
“We know this news is disappointing for the many families who have enjoyed Cravens Pool this summer, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” the department said in a release.
Combest Pool will remain open through Aug. 2, while Owensboro’s three spray parks at Smothers Park, Kendall-Perkins Park, and Legion Park will stay open through Labor Day weekend.
Owensboro Parks & Recreation is also offering several promotions at Combest Pool during the final weeks of the season:
- Wednesday, July 22 and 29: Way Back Wednesday — $2.50 admission
- Friday, July 24: Free admission during public swim from noon to 4 p.m.
- Sunday, July 26: Family Swim Day — parents receive free admission, and families of up to four can swim for $5
- Monday, July 27: Dollar Day — $1 admission per person
- Sunday, Aug. 2: Gone to the Dogs
“We’re grateful for everyone’s patience and understanding as we make these repairs, and we hope everyone takes advantage of our additional special promotions as we near the end of summer,” said Amanda Rogers, director of Owensboro Parks & Recreation.
