In a year full of constant change and challenges for our community, the staff at Owensboro Times was not immune. Like you, we were all tested in new ways and learned to adapt over and over without warning.

Though we have made a few mistakes along the way — we’re human, too, after all — our commitment to provide you with relevant local news coverage has remained unchanged.

With your help, Owensboro Times still saw tremendous growth in 2020, even as we navigated unprecedented waters.

Your faithful support is not lost on us. That’s why as we begin 2021, our staff is more committed than ever to grow with you, learn from you, and keep you informed of what’s going on locally.

That may mean countless more COVID-19 stories, keeping an eye on government agencies or economic developments, or staying at a violent crime scene for hours until questions can be answered.

But it may also mean telling the story of a person giving until their pockets are empty so that others can have a meal, the story of local businesses supporting each other to stay afloat, or the story of how frontline workers save a life or how educators enrich one.

With your continued support, our promise is to work even harder in the coming year to be your trusted source for local news. We wouldn’t be where we are without you.

So, we extend a very humble thank you from all of us at Owensboro Times. We send our best wishes to all of you, and we hope that we all may see better days in 2021.
