I can only imagine the anxiety, fear, anguish, hurt, and anger family court participants must face. That is why I feel strongly that a special individual should serve as a judge for family courts. The jurist must be able to, to the best of one’s ability, assuage the unpleasant feelings of participants in their courts. To assure the best outcomes for all, a family court judge should be able to blend proper amounts of care, concern, and compassion in presiding over cases. In addition, firmness, fairness, integrity, a great legal mind, knowledge, and understanding of the laws are absolute requirements for a family court judge.

Thomas Vallandingham, a candidate for judge of Daviess Family Court Division 3, checks all boxes for the qualities and skills previously listed. Vallandingham, an Owensboro native, is a man of great character and is passionate about serving and helping others. I first met Thomas a few years ago when he was serving as an umpire for youth baseball in Owensboro. Our paths have crossed many times since in various community and civic endeavors. On a baseball diamond, soccer pitch, or just a casual encounter on a downtown sidewalk, Thomas is the same, friendly, caring, compassionate, and eager to help in any way. For these reasons and more, which are too numerous to list in this letter, I will vote for Thomas Vallandingham on November 8 to serve as Daviess Family Court Judge Division 3. I hope you will join me in doing the same.
