GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Apollo 53, Union County 41
Lexi Shadowen paced the E-Gals (2-1) with 22 points to pick up a road win over the Bravettes (2-2). She knocked down five 3-pointers to go along with four assists and three steals,

Other scorers were Amari Sanders (9), Amber Dunn (8), Kassidy Daugherty (7), Brylee Rhodes (5) and Shelbie Beatty (2).

Sanders also had six rebounds, and Daugherty added four steals.

The E-Gals will return to action Friday with a short trip to open district play at Owensboro Catholic at 5:30 p.m.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Webster County 55, Apollo 36
A slow start doomed the Eagles (1-4), as a 35-8 halftime deficit was too much to overcome on the road Tuesday against the Trojans (3-0).

Cameron Frantz led the scoring with 15 points and Sam Parm added 9. Other scorers were Ryan Ash (4), Evan Deaton (3), Nathan Mewes (3) and Dan St. Claire (2).

Apollo will open district play Friday on the road at Owensboro Catholic.
