GIRLS BASKETBALL
Christian County 68, Owensboro 53
The Lady Devils (6-1) couldn’t shake a slow start, suffering their first loss of the season on the road. Owensboro outscored the Lady Colonels by one over the last three quarters, but it wasn’t enough as they trailed 22-6 after the first.

Amaya Curry led the team with 22 points, while Mykael Winstead added 13. Tayonna Greer added 9, Nia Gonzo had 7, and Lyric Lawrence scored 2.

Owensboro plays again Friday at 5:30 p.m. with a 9th District matchup at Apollo.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Christian County 75, Owensboro 66
The Red Devils (2-3) used a late push but weren’t able to recover from a 20-12 deficit after the first quarter.

Isaac Humphrey led the team with 21 points, while Darrion Wimsatt added 15. Amari Wales, Gavin Wimsatt and Jaiden Greathouse each finished with eight points. Monte Owsley scored 4 and Aireon Phillips had 2.

Owensboro will play again Friday at 7:00 p.m. in a 9th District meeting with Apollo.

Butler County 61, Apollo 56
The Eagles (1-7) came up just short in the final contest of a four-game road trip. No stats were available.

Apollo will host Owensboro at 7:00 p.m. Friday in a 9th District game.
