Apollo 67, Trinity 44
The E-Gals (12-10) came out hot on the road and built a first-half lead that proved to be too much to overcome for the Lady Raiders (7-12). Apollo broke the school’s single-game assist record with 19 on 28 made baskets.

Lexi Shadowen led Apollo with 15 points and Kassidy Daugherty added 10, and each hit three 3-pointers. Amari Sanders scored 10.

For Trinity, Nina Wathen hit three 3-pointers and finished with 14 points, and Morgan Kinsey scored 12.

The teams combined for six 3-pointers in the opening quarter, but the E-Gals ran out to a 22-11 advantage. They were able to stretch it to 38-15 by halftime.

Kinsey and Cassidy Morris (9) scored all of their points in the second half, but it wasn’t enough as Apollo maintained their distance.

The Lady Devils (10-13) needed overtime after losing a big lead on the road, but they held of the Lady Bears (4-18) for back-to-back wins.

Amaya Curry led the team with 25 points. Tayonna Greer finished with 19 — 16 coming after halftime. Victoria Whitlock scored 15, and Nia Gonzo added 10.

Owensboro dominated the first half, going up 24-11 after one quarter and 39-22 after two. Butler County used a strong final push and 24 second-half points by Jaelyn Taylor (37 total) to tie the game before losing in overtime.

The Lady Devils hit six three pointers, with five coming from Greer, but they did shoot just 14-of-33 from the free throw line.
