Six players finished in double figures, but it wasn’t enough for the Owensboro Thoroughbreds in their 111-103 loss to the Raleigh Firebirds at home Tuesday.

Owensboro (1-3) started strong and jumped out to a 30-20 lead through the first period, but Raleigh (1-3) erased the deficit midway through the second and held a 12-point advantage at the half.

Owensboro won the third quarter 36-28 but couldn’t complete the comeback to earn the two-game sweep.

Anthony Jones Jr. lead the team with 23 points, and Corey Wilford added 20. James Still finished with 10 rebounds.

The Thoroughbreds will continue their home stand on Jan. 23 when they host the New York Court Kings.
