The Trinity basketball teams got a pair of decisive wins over Hancock County in a doubleheader at home Thursday. The Raiders used scoring from nearly a dozen players for an 84-56 victory, while Cassidy Morris scored 27 for the second night in a row to lead the Lady Raiders to a 49-34 win.

BOYS
The Raiders (12-10) bounced back from an off night Wednesday to rout the Hornets (5-17) at home with a balanced attack. Denver Dickens came off the bench to lead Trinity with 18 points.

Dickens hit four of the team’s nine 3-pointers. Trenton Morris added 14 and Landon Hall scored 10.

Morris got 6 points in the first quarter to help the Raiders to a 21-12 advantage, and he combined with Hall to score 14 in the second to maintain their distance.

Dickens had 7 points in the third quarter and 8 in the fourth as Trinity continued to stretch their lead.

Hancock County hit six 3-pointers and had four finished with double-digit scoring, but the Hornets were limited to only 11 made 2-point shots.

GIRLS
Morris nearly mirrored her state line from Wednesday and Nina Wathen chipped in 10 points as the Lady Raiders (8-13) broke a three-game skid with a win over the Lady Hornets (6-18).

Morris got rolling early with 7 points in the first quarter to help Trinity go up 13-5. Jose Aull scored 5 in the second as the Lady Raiders extended their lead.

Trinity and Hancock County mostly matched each other in the second half, but the Lady Hornets couldn’t get enough scoring to put up a challenge.

The Lady Raiders went 11-of-22 at the free throw line, but four 3-pointers and the quick start were provided enough of a cushion for the comfortable lead.
