Brescia basketball teams split road doubleheader

WOMEN
Brescia 66, Cincinnati Christian 64
The Lady Bearcats (9-18, 7-9) used a quick start to upend CCU (14-14, 10-7) on the road for a conference win in the final week of the regular season.

Catherine Dunn scored 19 points to lead Brescia, while Cassidy Moss added 14 points and 9 rebounds.

The Lady Bearcats started strong and built a 19-9 advantage after the first period. They extended the lead to 43-27 by halftime.

The Lady Eagles came out of the break hot to cut into the deficit and only trailed by 8 points heading into the final period. They again controlled the quarter, but Brescia had just enough to hang on for the win.

The Lady Bearcats finish the season at home Saturday against Indiana University Kokomo.

The Bearcats (14-13, 10-7) weren’t able to hold onto their halftime lead on the road against the Eagles (14-15, 8-9).

Brescia hit 12 3-pointers, including five by Jalen Rose, but CCU hit 14 of their own. Rose led all scorers with 25. Kayode Daboiku added 23 points and 9 rebounds.

Brescia started strong and built a 48-39 halftime lead, though the Eagles were able to complete the comeback in the second period.
