With the 2019 season starting Friday, Meredith Daunhauer of the Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team has been named to the 2019 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II National Player of the Year Watch List.

The list consists of 50 student-athletes from across the country, including 29 returning NFCA All-Americans from last season. Daunhauer brought home a pair of First-Team All-Region selections last year.

During her junior campaign, Daunhauer boasted a batting average of .413 consisting of three doubles, one triple and one home run. She drove in 17 runs while scoring 50. She finished the season ranked second in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in runs scored and lead the league in hits and stolen bases.

Nationally, Daunhauer finished the season ranked fifth with 83 hits. Her 40 stolen bases on 46 attempts ranked 16th in the country.

The Panthers head to Huntsville, Ala., this weekend for the Charger Chillout hosted by Alabama Huntsville. Wesleyan takes on Mississippi College, Miles College, Christian Brothers, Illinois Springfield, West Alabama and Shorter during the three-day tournament.
