Lady Aces come up short against Lady Trojans

The Owensboro Catholic girls’ basketball team had an lead early but came up short in a 45-40 loss to Webster County in the Independence Bank Valentine’s Shootout held at Murray.

It’s the second time the Lady Trojans (25-3) have beaten the Lady Aces (20-7) this season, though Catholic improved upon the 53-34 loss in December.

The Lady Aces held a 12-7 lead after one quarter Saturday, but Webster County went in front 21-18 by halftime. The game remained close though the final two periods though the Lady Trojans were able to stay on top for the win.

Hannah Mckay led Catholic with 12 points and 8 rebounds, and Sarah Beth Clemens added 10 points. Mackenzie Keelin scored 9 points, Spencer Harvey had 6, and Isabella Henning added 3.
