Apollo 15, Horace Mann (Wisc.) 0 (4 innings)
The E-Gals (2-3) rolled in their home opener, taking down Horace Mann in four innings with a big offensive effort. Keely Eans and Hallie Wilson each homered, while Madison Shemwell had two doubles to go along with a single. 

Eans, Wilson, Madison Julian and Lauren Whitehouse had two hits a piece. Julian picked up the win.

BASEBALL RECAPS
Daviess County 8, South Spencer 4
The Panthers (2-3) used a four-run fifth inning to pull away for a home victory over South Spencer. All four runs for South Spencer were unearned, as were half of Daviess County’s.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first, the Panthers plated three in the second and one in the fourth. South Spencer tied the game in the top of the fifth before Daviess County took control for good.

Chandler Froehlich had a strong day on offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Cole Troutman (2 hits, 2 RBIs), Jack Gibson (2 runs, 3 RBIs, triple) and Wesley Hamilton (1 run, 2 RBIs, double) also led Daviess County at the plate.

Nolan Boswell picked up the win, giving up five hits and four runs over five innings.

Owensboro Catholic 4, Bowling Green 3
Andrew Riman scored twice and the Aces (4-3) held off the Purples (4-2) to pick up another win at home. Both teams had six hits, and Owensboro overcame a pair of errors.

Bowling Green got on the board with a run in the first inning, but Catholic took the lead with a three-run second. The Aces added one in the third, and the Purples scored once each in fourth and sixth frames.

Braden Mundy had a pair of RBIs and a double, and Mason Grant also doubled. Everett Munsey and Finley Munsey each added an RBI. Grant earned the win in three innings on the mound, giving up two hits and striking out four.

Edmonson County 16, Trinity 0 (5 innings)
Errors plagued the Raiders (1-5) in their home opener, as eight mistakes in the field led to 13 unearned runs for the undefeated Wildcats (6-0). Edmonson County took a five-run lead in the first inning and never looked back.

Matthew Mills had the only hit for Trinity. He also took the loss on the mound, giving up 11 runs (eight unearned) on five hits and striking out three in 3.2 innings.

No stats were available for Edmonson County.
