Brescia University junior Kayode Daboiku was named to the NAIA All-American Honorable Mention Team for men’s basketball as announced Thursday afternoon.

Daboiku averaged 17.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per game this past season. He also lead the Bearcats in assists (103), blocks (24) and steals (34).

Daboiku was named to the River States All-Conference First Team and eclipsed the 1,000-point total for his career this year.

“I am honored to be recognized nationally as an NAIA All-American” Daboiku said. “I would like to thank my family, teammates and coaches for always pushing me to be the best that I can be. I couldn’t have done it without them and I am blessed to receive this honor.”

Head Coach Brian Skortz said he is proud of Daboiku  for receiving recognition at the national level.

“This is a great honor for him but also for Brescia University and for our men’s basketball program,” Skortz said. “He works as hard as anyone in the nation and knowing that he has another year to continue to improve, I am excited to see what he will be able to do during his senior season for our program. He is a great young man and I am very happy for him in receiving this honor.”
