Local archers finish strong in state indoor tournament

Local archers had a successful outing over the weekend at the Kentucky S3DA State Indoor Archery Tournament at the Western Kentucky Archery Complex.

A total of 452 archers representing 66 teams and clubs across the state participated. In addition to archers from Daviess County, Trinity and Owensboro Catholic high schools, local athletes in action represented Daviess County Middle School, Daviess County Archery Club, Owensboro Archery Club and Split Arrow Archery Club.

In team competition, Owensboro Archery Club claimed 1st place in the High School Club Division to go along with a 2nd-place finish in the Elementary Club Division and a 4th-place finish in the Middle School Club Division.

DCMS won 1st in the Middle School Division, while DCHS took 2nd in the High School Division.

Also placing in the High School Division were Trinity in 4th and Owensboro Catholic in 5th.

Kynsley Redmon, DCHS – 2nd, HS Female Fixed Pins
Meg Curtis, Owensboro Archery Club – 2nd, HS Female Open
Kennedy Swope, Split Arrow Archery Club – 2nd, HS Female Traditional
Haley Bradshaw, DCMS – 3rd, MS Female Fixed Pins

BOYS INDIVIDUAL
Camron Adkins, DCHS – 3rd (after shoot off), HS Male Fixed Pins
Collin Montgomery, Owensboro Archery Club – 3rd, HS Male Olympic Recurve
Dalton Curtis, Owensboro Archery Club – 2nd, HS Male Open
Wes Blondin, Owensboro Catholic High School – 2nd, HS Male Traditional
