BASEBALL RECAPS
Apollo 5, Franklin-Simpson 3
Josh Maddox scored the go-ahead run and was the winning pitcher as the Eagles (2-4) got a home victory over the Wildcats (5-4).

Apollo scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and finished with nine hits. Maddox went the final three innings on the mound, giving up one hit and a run while striking out four.

Max Holder had a pair of hits and two RBIs, while Daylin Crabtree doubled and Harrison Bowman had two hits. Maddox scored twice.

Owensboro 5, Muhlenberg County 4
The Red Devils (5-2) continued their win streak by using some early offense and overcoming five errors to get past the Mustangs (3-2) on the road.

Owensboro used a run in the first and third innings as well as two in the fourth to take a 4-0 advantage. They added a final score in the seventh to break the tie and get the win.

Tucker Hagan and Nick Belcher each had two hits, and Hagan scored twice. Belcher got the win, pitching the final three innings and striking out four.

Owensboro Catholic 5, Meade County 3
Luke Scales went 3-for-3 and picked up the win in six innings of work as the Aces (5-3) got a victory at home over the Green Wave (2-5). Scales also had an RBI and scored once.

Sam McFarland collected two hits and had a double to go along with a run scored. Luke Evans scored twice, and Andrew Wiman had two RBIs.

Catholic went in front early with a pair of runs and added two more in the third. Meade County plated one in the third, fifth and sixth innings, and the Aces added one more of their own in the sixth.

SOFTBALL RECAPS
Daviess County 15, Muhlenberg County 3
The Lady Panthers (5-3) rolled to another big win, taking down the Lady Mustangs (1-7) on the road. Daviess County tallied 14 hits and got home runs from Millie Roberts and Emma Young.

Roberts went 3-for-3 with five runs, four RBIs and a double to lead the offense. Cameron Hamilton hit a pair of doubles, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a run scored. Winning pitcher Hannah Clark added two hits and scored twice, and Savanah Northern tripled.

The Lady Panthers put up a pair of runs in the first inning and added one in the second, third and fifth frames. They plated four in the sixth inning and five in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Butler County 9, Trinity 8
The Lady Raiders (0-10) narrowly missed out on a win as the Lady Bears (5-3) rallied late to get the win. Trinity outhit Butler County 13-12, and both teams had three errors. The Lady Raiders went up 6-3 in the fifth before the Lady Bears responded in the bottom of the inning. Full stats were not available.

TENNIS RECAPS
Owensboro Catholic 7, Apollo 2 (boys)
Owensboro Catholic 1, Apollo 2 (girls)
Both Catholic teams picked up wins against Apollo in a crosstown matchup played at Moreland Park.

For the boys, the Aces got singles wins from Nick Boarman (def. Stephen Austin), Davis Brocato (def. Michael Chapman), Brett Conder (def. Chris Cox) and Ty Gatten (def. Nathan Payne) as well as one win by default. Doubles wins came from Will Danzer/Brocato (def. Ryan Ash/Chapman) and Garrison Danzer/Conder (def. Cox/Payne).

Apollo’s wins came from Luke Austin (def. Cooper Danzer) and Stephen Austin/Luke Austin (def. Beau Ingram/Ethan Higdon).

For the girls, the Lady Aces got singles victories from Emmy Moore (def. Macy Dame), Sarah Englert (def. Mia Lampert), Alyssa Gatten (def. Brooklyn Knight) and Ella Grace Buckman (def. Madalyn Hyland). Doubles wins came from Englert/Ashley Fulkerson (def. Madalyn Hyland/Caitlyn Blandford), Gatten/Olivia Hayden (def. Lauren Clements/Lynzy Schwartz) and Katie Riney/Maddie Hayden (def. Gracie Cart/Anna Hyland).

Apollo picked up wins from Clements (def. Reagan Fulkerson) and Blandford (def. Grace Brocato).


Owensboro 5, Madisonville-North Hopkins 4 (boys)
The Red Devils squeezed out a victory on the road with four singles and one doubles win. Picking up single wins were Will Clark, Mitchell Douglas, Grayson McFarland and Clayton Rhoads, while Cameron Thompson/Conner Elliott got a doubles victory.
