Thursday’s action:
• OCHS girls dominant, boys lose at home
• Apollo girls, boys take down Butler County
• Daviess County boys fall just short on road



RECAPS
Owensboro Catholic 9, Madisonville-North Hopkins 0 (Girls)
Madisonville-North Hopkins 7, Owensboro Catholic 2 (Boys)
The girls’ team swept their match with easy, dropping only nine total games on the day at Moreland Park. Singles winners were Sarah Kate Young, Emmy Moore, Alyssa Gatten, Olivia Hayden, Ella Grace Buckman and Katie Riney. Doubles victors were Gatten/Olivia Hayden, Riney/Maddie Hayden and Elizabeth Hayden/Rachel Traylor.

For the boys, wins came from Brett Conder in singles and Ty Gatten/Ethan Higdon in doubles.


Apollo 8, Butler County 1 (girls)
Apollo 6, Butler County 3 (boys)
The E-Gals nearly swept their match at the Owensboro Tennis Complex. They got singles wins from Mia Lampert, Caitlyn Blandford, Brooklyn Knight, Natalie Estes and Maggie Ward, and doubles victories came from Blandford/Madalyn Hyland, Knight/Lynzy Schwartz and Gracie Cart/Anna Hyland.

The Eagles got four singles wins from Stephen Austin, Ryan Ash, Chris Cox and Luke Austin, while the doubles teams of Ash/Michael Chapman and Austin/Cox also picked up victories.


Grayson County 6, Daviess County 3 (boys)
The Panthers came out on the wrong end of a handful of tight matches on the road. Daviess County got singles wins from George Hulse and Camden Clark, and the doubles team of Hulse/Chris Salamah got the other victory.
