DC girls’ track team finishes first in Hopkinsville

The Daviess County girls’ track and field team claimed the top spot Saturday in the Toyota Hopkinsville Invitational. The boys’ team finished in ninth place.

The girls’ 4×800 Meter Relay team of Riliegh Owens, Emily Rempe, Avery Heath and Elli Crabtree took first place, as did the 4×400 Meter Relay team of Kyra Rowan, Rempe, Ainsley Taylor and Owens.

Girls who finished in the top three of their events were Karlee Hoffman (1st – 3,200 Meter Run, 2nd – 1,600 Meter Run), Emily Rempe (1st – 800 Meter Run), Kyra Rowan (1st – 400 Meter Dash, 2nd – 200 Meter Dash), Jaclyn Simpson (2nd – 300 Meter Dash) and Taylor (3rd – 1,600 Meter Run).

The boys’ 4×800 team of Brady Terry, Alex Adams, Jake Turner and Ben Peters finished first. The lone individual with a top-three finish was JQ Fletcher (3rd – high jump).
