• Howard leads hot offense in win for DC

• Trinity falls in seventh inning on road


SOFTBALL RECAP
Daviess County 13, Grayson County 4
Sydney Howard homered and drove in four runs to lead a 19-hit outing for the Lady Panthers (10-9) in a rout of Grayson County (3-12). Howard finished with three hits including a double and also scored twice.

Other offensive leaders were Savanah Northern (2 hits, run, 2 RBIs), Millie Roberts (3-for-3, 2 RBIs), Emily Stanley (2 hits, 3 runs, RBI) and Abby Pike (2 hits, 2 RBIs, double). Abby Newman had two hits that both went for doubles.

Daviess County jumped in front with a five-run second inning that started with the solo shot by Howard, and they continued to stretch the lead throughout the game. Cameron Hamilton got the win in a complete game, giving up four runs on six hits and striking out 10.

BASEBALL RECAP
Butler County 3, Trinity 2
A tight game ended with Butler County (9-7) walking off in the bottom of the seventh inning for a win over Trinity (4-9) in 12th District action. Butler County drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the seventh and eventually scored on a passed ball.

The Raiders trailed 2-0 after the first inning before Briar Roberts scored on an error in the second and Mason Mattingly stole home in the fourth to tie the game.

Matthew Mills collected two hits and Kevin Foster had a double for Trinity. Landon Huff took the loss, giving up two runs on two hits and striking out six in 5.1 innings.
