BASEBALL RECAPS
Owensboro 2, Breckinridge County 1
The Red Devils (10-7) got a statement win with a walk-off victory over Breckinridge County (12-3) in 3rd Region action.

Braxton French scored the winning run on a hit by Tucker Hagan, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Courtesy runner Andrew Chancellor scored the first run in the fifth inning, and the Tigers tied the game in the sixth.

Owensboro’s Isaac Humphrey went 5.2 innings and gave up a run on three hits while striking out six. French closed out the game and struck out three with no hits given up.

Butler County 14, Trinity 3 (5 innings)
The Raiders (4-10) took an early 2-0 lead but Butler County (10-7) plated 10 runs in the third inning and took advantage of four errors to pull away.

Landon Huff led the team with two hits, while runs came from Mason Mattingly, Nathan Hernandez and Gavin Howard. Howard and Matthew Mills each had an RBI.

Kevin Foster took the loss and gave up 10 runs (all unearned) on seven hits.

SOFTBALL RECAPS
Owensboro Catholic 15, Grayson County 0 (3 innings)
Isabella Henning hit a grand slam and the Lady Aces (9-5) picked up a fifth consecutive win as they rolled past Grayson County (3-13) in three innings on the road.

Isabella Henning drew two walks and finished 1-for-1 with four RBIs and three runs scored. Taylor Dukate and Hadley Phelps each had two doubles and Danielle Henning had one.

Camille Conkright also scored three times, while Anna Lee Meyer, Danielle Henning and Phelps each crossed the plate twice. Phelps drove in three runs, and Danielle Henning, Hannah Carter and Dukate had two RBIs a piece.

Lexi Hatchett pitched all three innings, striking out six and giving up one hit and a walk.

Breckinridge County 10, Owensboro 0 (5 innings)
The Lady Devils (2-12) fell behind early and were only able to manage one hit in a road loss to Breckinridge County (6-11).

Kaylyn Sowders collected the lone hit for Owensboro, who finished with four errors. Aubrie Schueler took the loss, giving up five runs on seven hits. Brooke Keller gave up five runs on eight hits.

TENNIS RECAPS
Owensboro Catholic 8, Daviess County 1 (Girls)
Daviess County 7, Owensboro Catholic 2 (Boys)
Owensboro Catholic and Daviess County squared off at Moreland Park, with the Lady Aces nearly sweeping the Lady Panthers and the DC boys nearly doing the same against Catholic.

For the girls, Catholic swept singles play with wins from Sarah Kate Young (def. Charly Hayden), Emmy Moore (def. Ashton Payne), Reagan Fulkerson (def. Regan Watkins), Ella Grace Buckman (def. Emily Hancock), Katie Riney (def. Kinsley Phelps) and Elizabeth Hayden (def. Kloee Phelps).

Doubles victors for the Lady Aces were Sarah Englert/Ashley Fulkerson (def. Payne/Watkins) and Alyssa Gatten/Olivia Hayden (def. Charly Hayden/Emily Hancock). The lone win for the Lady Panthers was Phelps/Phelps (def. Maddie Hayden/Rachel Traylor).

On the boys’ side, Daviess County got singles wins from George Hulse (def. Nick Boarman), Dylan McDuffee (def. Ty Gatten), Ryota Takahashi (def. Davis Brocato) and Luke McClelland (def. Garrison Danzer). Owensboro winners were Will Danzer (def. Camden Clark) and Brett Conder (def. Andy Peeples).

Daviess County swept the boys’ doubles with victories from McDuffee/Clark (def. Will Danzer/Brocato), Hulse/Graham Sandefur (def. Garrison Danzer/Conder) and Takahashi/Peeples (def. Cooper Danzer/Joseph Hayden).
