Tuesday’s spring break baseball/softball action:

BASEBALL RECAPS
Owensboro Catholic 22, Fairview 5
Sam McFarland went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBIs and three walks to power the Aces (6-5) to a dominant win over Fairview in the Fort Walton Beach Bash. Catholic collected 19 hits and scored in every inning. They took command with five runs in the first, also adding a four-run fifth and eight-run seventh frame.

Also having big days at the plate were Jamison Wall (4-for-5, 2 runs, 4 RBIs), Luke Scales (4-for-6, 4 runs, RBI), Andrew Wiman (2-for-3, 3 runs, 3 RBIs) and Finley Munsey (2 runs, 2 RBIs). McFarland, Evans, Wiman, Wall and Luke Scales all doubled.

Scales earned the win, giving up two runs on five hits through four innings.

Lafayette 10, Owensboro 3
Brennon Williams had a pair of doubles but the Red Devils (5-4) came up short against Lafayette, who scored two runs in the sixth inning and four in the seventh to pull away for a win in the Fort Walton Beach Bash.

Williams also scored twice for Owensboro, who got runs in the first, fourth and sixth innings. Isaac Humphrey took the loss in five innings on the mound, giving up four runs on seven hits and striking out four.

SOFTBALL RECAPS
Navarre (Fla.) 6, Owensboro Catholic 3
The Lady Aces (3-4) fell short after Navarre scored four runs in the sixth inning to get a win in the second day of a spring break tournament in Florida.

Catholic was outhit 8-3 but held a 2-1 lead after a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning. After Navarre tied the game in the fifth, the Lady Aces went back ahead in the top of the sixth.

Isabella Henning had a pair of doubles and scored once, while Hannah Carter recorded the other hit and also scored. Lexi Hatchett took the loss in five innings of work, giving up six runs (four unearned) on eight hits.

Sneads (Fla.) 14, Apollo 3 (5 innings)
The E-Gals (4-4) finished with seven errors that led to as many runs as Sneads earned a five-inning win in the Hit the Beach Classic in Panama City, Fla. Sneads plated five unearned runs in the second inning, and the only answer Apollo had came with three runs in the fourth frame.

Seven different players earned a hit for Apollo, and runs came from Mattie Lyons, Hallie Wilson and Madison Julian. Abbie Gore doubled and had an RBI. Julian took the loss in the circle, pitching the first two innings.
