SOFTBALL RECAPS
Daviess County 3, Meade County 2 (9 innings)
Emma Young hit a walk-off homer in the ninth inning to lift the Lady Panthers (13-9) past Meade County for their fifth straight win. It was Young’s second home run in as many nights.

Millie Roberts hit a solo shot in the bottom of the first inning and she scored again in the fourth on a bunt by Sydney Howard. Howard and Roberts each had a double.

Meade County scored two runs in the top of the seventh to force extra innings. Greysee Whiteker gave up both runs and six hits but got the win after pitching the final four innings.

Owensboro Catholic 6, South Spencer 0
Lexi Hatchett pitched a shutout and the Lady Aces (10-7) took advantage of four errors by South Spencer to earn a win at home.

Hannah Carter led the offense, going 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Taylor Dukate had two hits including a double, scored twice and drove in a run. Bailey Simone also doubled and drove in one.

Hatchett gave up four hits, struck out four and walked three in the complete-game outing.

BASEBALL RECAPS
Apollo 6, Ohio County 5
Josh Maddox hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh to help Apollo (10-11) squeeze past Ohio County on the road. Ohio County hit two long balls of their own in a back-and-forth contest that was tied at 4-4 after four innings.

Apollo finished with 10 hits, including doubles by Maddox, Max Holder, Jakob Helms and Evan Hodskins. Maddox and Hodskins each had a pair of hits.

Harrison Bowman got the win on the mound in one inning of work, allowing one run on one hit. Nick Judd came in for the save in the final inning.

Grayson County 10, Trinity 0 (5 innings)
It was a tough night for the Raiders (3-15), who managed only two hits and had six errors on the road. Owen Payne and Nathan Hernandez each doubled, and Kevin Foster took the loss on the mound.

TENNIS RECAPS
Owensboro 8, Daviess County 1 (boys)
The Red Devils were largely in control as they picked up a win over the Panthers at Moreland Park. The lone win for Daviess County came from the doubles team of Chris Salamah/Dylan McDuffee (def. Paul Iracane/Will Clark).

Doubles wins for Owensboro came from AJ Iracane/Grayson McFarland (def. Ryota Takahashi/Camden Clark) and Mitchell Douglas/Clayton Rhoads (def. Luke McClellan/Andy Peeples).

Owensboro swept singles action with wins by Dylan Mather (def. George Hulse), Paul Iracane (def. McDuffee), Will Clark (def. Takahashi), AJ Iracane (def. Camden Clark), Douglas (def. McClellan) and McFarland (def. Peeples).


Apollo 9, Henderson County 0 (girls)
Henderson County 5, Apollo 4 (boys)
The Apollo girls’ team earned a sweep while the boys came up just short in a road match at Henderson County.

For the E-Gals, singles wins came from Macy Dame, Mia Lampert, Lauren Clements, Caitlyn Blandford, Natalie Estes and Lynzy Schwartz. Doubles victors were Blandford/Dame, Clements/Schwartz and Gracie Cart/Estes.

For the boys, singles winners were Ryan Ash and Nathan Payne. Doubles victors were Ash/Michael Chapman and Stephen Austin/Jude Ford.
