The Owensboro boys’ team largely dominated the day in an upset of regional favorite Owensboro Catholic at Moreland Park. Singles winners for the Red Devils were Paul Iracane, Will Clark, AJ Iracane, Grayson McFarland and Clayton Rhoads, while Brett Conder picked up the lone win for the Aces. OHS doubles’ winners were Paul Iracane/Clark, AJ Iracane/McFarland and Mitchell Douglas/Isaac Nalley.
In girls’ competition, the Lady Aces rolled to a clean sweep of the Lady Devils. Singles winners were Sarah Kate Young, Emmy Moore, Sarah Englert, Ashley Fulkerson, Reagan Fulkerson and Ella Grace Buckman. Doubles victories came from Alyssa Gatten/Olivia Hayden, Rachel Traylor/Elizabeth Hayden and Katie Riney/Maddie Hayden.
Apollo 9, Henderson County 0 (Girls)
Apollo 6, Henderson County 3 (Boys)
Though they had a few close games, the Apollo girls swept Henderson County for a strong win at the Owensboro Tennis Complex. Singles winners were Macy Dame, Mia Lampert, Madalyn Hyland, Lauren Clements, Caitlyn Blandford and Brooklyn Knight. They also got doubles wins from Blandford/Madalyn Hyland, Clements/Lynzy Schwartz and Gracie Cart/Anna Hyland.
For the boys, singles victors included Ryan Ash, Michael Chapman, Jude Ford and Thomas Ashby, while doubles winners were Ash/Chapman and Stephen Austin/Nathan Payne.
