Emma Young homered and Hannah Clark struck out 10 in a complete game as the Daviess County softball team beat Heritage Hills 5-3 at home Monday night.

The Lady Panthers (12-9) won their fourth in a row and used a three-run third inning to take the lead for good. Savannah Northern scored in the first inning before Heritage Hills put up two runs in the second.

Northern scored again in the third off a triple by Abby Newman to tie the game. Cameron Hamilton singled to knock in Newman and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Kelsey Whistle.

Young’s homer came on the first pitch of her at bat in the fifth inning, and Heritage Hills only managed one more run in the game.

Northern, Hamilton and Young each finished 2-for-3 to lead the offense. Clark allowed eight hits and only walked two batters.
