With their big weekend tournament cancelled due to inclement weather, the Owensboro Catholic softball team added a game at Madisonville-North Hopkins on Friday night. They scored in the first inning, but the Lady Aces (10-8) eventually took a 2-1 loss on a walk-off hit in the eighth inning by the Lady Maroons.

The lone run for Catholic came in the top of the first after Danielle Henning reached on a single. She advanced to third on a hit by Hannah Carter then scored on a wild pitch.

The Lady Maroons got one back in the bottom of the first, and the teams traded six scoreless innings to force an extra frame. Madisonville drew a leadoff walk then popped out twice before using a single to dive in the winning run.

Lexi Hatchett took the loss, pitching the final 4.2 innings and allowing two hits. Hadley Phelps went three innings and gave up one run on four hits.
