OHS boys 1st, DC girls 3rd in Raider Classic

The Owensboro boys’ track and field team ran away with first place, while the Daviess County girls’ were solid with a third-place finish in the Raider Classic at Warren East on Saturday.

OHS scored 114 points, topping second-place Central Hardin (85) in a field of 14 teams. The DCHS girls (91) were not far behind first-place Bowling Green (110) and runner-up Greenwood (98.5).

For Owensboro, the relay teams took first in the 4×200 (1:34.47) and 4×100 (44.20), and they earned second in the 4×400 (3:35.37). Top individuals were Imonte Owsley (1st – 100 Meter Dash, 11.27; 2nd – 200 Meter Dash, 22.98; 1st – Long Jump, 21-09.50), Zion Riley (1st – Pole Vault, 12-00), Dartanyan Tinsley (1st – Shot Put, 45-00.50) and Maurice Moorman (2nd – Pole Vault, 10-06).

The Daviess County girls’ relay teams finished first in the 4×800 (10:05.71) and third in the 4×200 (1:52.27). Top individuals were Kyra Rowan (1st – 400 Meter Dash, 1:00.59; 1st – 200 Meter Dash, 26.83), Karlee Hoffman (1st – 3200 Meter Run, 11:52.53), Emily Rempe (1st – 800 Meter Run, 2:23.95), Jaclyn Simpson (2nd – 300 Meter Hurdles, 48.58) and Emily Ann Roberts (3rd -1600 Meter Run, 5:31.29)

For the Daviess County boys’ to individual performances came from Alex Adams (2nd – 3200 Meter Run, 10:10.76) and Brady Terry (3rd – 3200 Meter Run, 10:18.12).

The Owensboro girls got a third-place finish from Aniyah Greer (100 Meter Dash, 13.37).
