With district play wrapped up, the stage for the 3rd Region baseball tournament has been set.
The tournament begins Monday and will be played over a three-day span at Owensboro’s Jack Hicks Field at Shifley Park. All first-round games will be played on the first day and feature district champions versus runners-up based on Thursday’s draw.

Owensboro Catholic (21-14), who claimed the 9th District title Wednesday, will play 11th District runner-up Meade County (16-20) at 10 a.m. to kick off the tournament.
The 12th District champion Butler County (17-16) plays in game two at 12:30 p.m. against Muhlenberg County (12-20), runner-up up from the 10th District.
Ohio County (21-16), 10th District winners, will play 9th District runner-up Owensboro (23-10) at 3 p.m. in game three.
Round one will end with a 5:30 p.m. meeting between 11th District champion Breckinridge County (24-5) and 12th District runner-up Grayson County (19-19).
Winners advance to semifinals at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, and the championship is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Admission is $5 at the gate.
