Apollo 8, Meade County 4

Abbie Gore homered as the E-Gals (13-10) built an early lead and then had to pull away again late in a win over Meade County in the Eagles Classic at Ohio County. A second game against Ohio County was cancelled due to weather.

Apollo took advantage of five errors by Meade County that led to seven runs. Gore, Madison Shemwell and Brooke Brown each scored twice. Gore, Hallie Wilson and Madison Lowe each drove in two runs.

Madison Julian pitched five innings in the win, giving up four runs on seven hits. Keely Eans closed the game with two hitless innings.

Apollo has three games left to play in the regular season.

Owensboro Catholic 4, Butler 3
Boyle County 3, Owensboro Catholic 0
Danielle Henning went 2-for-3 with a home run and double to lead the Lady Aces (13-10) past Butler after Catholic was shut by tournament host Boyle County in the Tylar Missbach Memorial Showcase.

Catholic was outhit 8-4 but used a three-run third inning to take down Butler. Isabelle Henning added a double, while Taylor Dukate had a single and drove in two runs. Hadley Phelps came in to get the win, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out three in 1.2 innings.

In the loss to Boyle County, Isabelle Henning doubled while Bailey Simone and Dukate each singled for the only three hits for Catholic.

The Lady Aces will play one more road game before closing out the regular season with two contests at home.

Trinity 13, John Hardin 1
LaRue County 5, Trinity 1
The Lady Raiders (11-13) split a doubleheader at Larue County, overcoming a sloppy first game to get a big win in game two.

Trinity had seven errors in the loss to LaRue County, and the only hits came from Katherine Hibbitt and Avery Barnett.

Against John Hardin, Nina Wathen (3-for-3, RBI, double) and Hibbitt (2-for-3, 3 runs, 3 RBIs) led a hot offense. Barnett had two hits and three RBIs, while Cassidy Morris had two hits and scored twice. Wathen got the win and allowed only one hit while striking out four.

Trinity will play five games in the final week of the regular season.

The Lady Devils (3-20) picked up a win on senior day as they split a doubleheader.

Kaylyn Sowders, Mady Poole and Emma Kingsley each tripled in the win over Warren Central, and Aubrey Scheuler doubled. Poole and Kingsley each went 2-for-3 with two runs, and Poole drove in three runs. Sowders also scored twice. Brooke Keller got the win as the starting pitcher.

Owensboro started the day with a tough time at the plate in the loss to the Lady Tigers, though Scheuler did collect two of the team’s five hits.

The Lady Devils will play five games this week to finish the regular season.

The Lady Panthers (16-11) won a pair of games as host of the Team Lauren Cancer Awareness Tournament. A third game against Warren East was cancelled due to weather. Full stats were not available. Daviess County will close out the regular season with four games this week.
