Savanah Northern, Abby Newman and Millie Roberts combined for 10 hits, six runs, nine RBIs and four doubles to help Daviess County (19-12) sneak past Elizabethtown (14-13) in the Manual Softball Showcase at the University of Louisville.

Northern went 5-for-5 and scored four times. Newman had two hits, two runs and two RBIs. Roberts had three doubles and drove in five runs.

The biggest double by Roberts came in the sixth inning, when she drove in Northern and Newman to put Daviess County up for good in a back-and-forth game. An RBI double by Northern earlier in the inning tied the game at 7-7.

The trio also helped put together a four-run fourth inning for the Lady Panthers. Northern and Newman posted back-to-back RBI singles, and they both scored on a double by Roberts that tied the game at 6-6. Roberts also doubled to drive in Northern for the first score of the game.

The Lady Devils had taken their first lead in the sixth inning. Mady Poole doubled to drive in Emma Kingsley and tie the game at 3-3. Poole then scored on a single by Molly Hudson.

Owensboro also got a pair of runs in the fourth inning when a single by Poole drove in Kingsley and Kaylyn Sowders.
