BASEBALL RECAPS
Daviess County 9-18 vs. Grayson County 18-15, 6
After Grayson County (18-16) finally broke a scoreless tie with one run in the top of the sixth inning, Ryan Thomson hit a two-out, two-RBI single in the bottom to put the Panthers (10-18) on top.

Winning pitcher Sam Johnson then got two strikeouts and a fly out in the seventh to cap off the complete-game victory in the final game of the regular season for Daviess County. Johnson only needed 79 pitches in the win, allowing an unearned run on five hits while striking out six and walking only one batter.

Daviess County also finished with five hits, with two each coming from Garrett Small and Jacob Crabtree. Crabtree and Bo Stratton scored on the single by Thomson.

Owensboro 10, Hancock County 0
Brennon Williams homered, doubled, scored twice and drove in four runs to lead the Red Devils (22-8) to their 11th consecutive win in a road victory over Hancock County (12-12).

After scoring a pair of runs each in the second and third innings, Owensboro tacked on three more in both the fifth and seventh innings. Braxton French also doubled and finished with two hits and a run. Isaac Humphrey went 2-for-2 and scored twice, also drawing two walks. Trace Grenier added two hits, while Collier Higgs crossed the plate two times and Austin Gough drove in a pair of runs.

Nick Belcher earned the win, giving up only one hit and striking out eight in 6.0 innings. French struck out two and gave up one hit in an inning of relief.

Apollo 6, McLean County 1
Trevor Payne went 3-for-4 and the Eagles (15-14) used a three-run fourth inning to pull away for a home victory over the Cougars (9-17). Apollo built a 5-0 lead before McLean County got on the board in the fifth inning.

Max Holder and Tommy Clark added a pair of hits each and both hit for a double. Dan St. Clair led the Eagles with two runs scored.

Clark also picked up the win, throwing a complete game while allowing an unearned run on four hits with seven strikeouts.

SOFTBALL RECAPS
Trinity 10, Muhlenberg County 9
The Lady Raiders (13-13) earned a walk-off win, completing a comeback at home after trailing for most of the game. Muhlenberg County led 6-1 after the second inning and 9-4 after four, but Trinity used four runs in the fifth frame and one more in the sixth to tie the game.

Cassidy Morris reached on an error with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, allowing McKenzie Roberts to score from second base for the win.

Nina Wathen and Katherine Hibbit each homered for Trinity. Wathen added a pair of doubles, while Brittany Booker had one of her own. Wathen, Booker and Aull each scored twice, and Hibbitt and Wathen drove in two runs a piece.

Wathen also picked up the  complete-game win in the circle, giving up nine runs (three unearned) on nine hits with four strikeouts.

Christian County 14, Apollo 0 (5 innings)
The E-Gals (13-12) fell behind early and couldn’t get much going on the road, while Christian County (23-6) used three homers including a grand slam in a five-inning win.

Apollo only pieced together four hits and and finished with three errors. Starting pitcher Madison Julian went 1.1 innings in the loss and gave up two runs on two hits.

McLean County 11, Owensboro 1 (6 innings)
McLean County (7-17) took a quick lead, and the Lady Devils (3-22) couldn’t overcome a tough day in the field in a six-inning road loss.

Molly Hudson drove in Mady Poole for the lone Owensboro run, while five errors by the Lady Devils led to seven unearned runs for the Lady Cougars.

Brooke Keller went 2.2 innings in the loss, giving up nine runs (five unearned) on four hits.
