BASEBALL RECAPS
Union County 8, Apollo 3
The Braves (20-13) scored six runs in the second inning for an early lead, and the Eagles (15-15) fell short at home. Full stats were not available. Apollo wraps up their season Thursday when they host Henderson County.

Breckinridge County 7, Owensboro 4
In a rematch of the top two teams in the 3rd Region standings, the Tigers (23-5) used a hot start to pick up a win at home, their ninth victory in a row. The loss ended an 11-game win streak for the Red Devils (22-9), and it was the final contest of the regular season for either team.

Breckinridge County did most of their damage with a five-run first inning. Owensboro used four runs in the third to get within 6-4, but they could get no closer.

Trace Grenier led off the third with a double and later scored, and a two-RBI double by Nick Belcher capped off the Devils’ rally. Corey Gibson took the loss, pitching two innings and allowing six runs (three unearned) on six hits.

SOFTBALL RECAP
Christian County 15, Daviess County 8
The Lady Panthers (17-12) rallied with six runs in the sixth inning, but it wasn’t enough to catch up with the hot offense of the Lady Colonels (24-6) in a loss at home. Millie Roberts hit a solo home run in the fifth inning for DC, but Chrisitan County still led 11-2.

Sydney Howard started off the sixth frame with a single and later finished off the Daviess County rally with a two-RBI double. Savanah Northern also doubled and drove in a run. The Lady Panthers cut the deficit to 11-8, but the Lady Colonels added four more in the seventh inning.

Howard, Abby Newman and Emma Young each had a pair of hits with a double. Young was the only Lady Panther to score twice. Cameron Hamilton took the loss, giving up 10 runs (four unearned) on five hits in three innings.
