SOFTBALL
• D. Henning homers in road win for Lady Aces

TENNIS
• OHS boys solid in victory over Butler County
• Aces sweep Ohio County at Moreland Park
• Apollo girls, boys edge past Hancock County


SOFTBALL RECAP
Owensboro Catholic 3, Boonville 0
Danielle Henning homered and the Lady Aces (11-9) picked up a win on the road in a low-scoring contest at Boonville. While Catholic was out of town, Apollo beat Daviess County to leave the Lady Aces and Lady Panthers tied for the No. 2 seed in the final 9th District standings.

Catholic first got on the board against Boonville in the second inning when Taylor Dukate reached on an error with a fly ball, allowing Hannah Carter to score from second. Danielle Henning’s homer made it 2-0 in the fourth, and Carter doubled to knock in Isabella Henning in the sixth.

Hadley Phelps got the win, giving up four hits and striking out five through 5.2 innings.

TENNIS RECAPS
Owensboro 7, Butler County 2 (boys)
The Red Devils swept doubles play and got four singles wins in a dominant victory over Butler County. Singles winners were Dylan Mather, Mitchell Douglas, Grayson McFarland and Paxton Jenkins. Doubles victories came from AJ Iracane/McFarland, Paul Iracane/Will Clark and Clayton Rhoads/Jenkins.


Owensboro Catholic 9, Ohio County 0 (boys)
The Aces swept the day with a home match at Moreland Park. Singles winners were Nick Boarman, Brett Conder, Will Danzer, Davis Brocato, Joseph Hayden and Cooper Danzer. Catholic got doubles victores from Will Danzer/Brocato, Garrison Danzer/Ty Gatten and Beau Ingram/Ethan Higdon.


Apollo 3, Hancock County 2 (girls)
Apollo 5, Hancock County 0 (boys)
The E-Gals got singles victories from Macy Dame and Mia Lampert, while a doubles win from Gracie Cart/Anna Hyland helped the team edge out Hancock County on the road. The Apollo boys got a singles win from Nick Shannon and doubles victory from Ryan Ash/Michael Chapman, while the rest came by forfeit.
