BASEBALL RECAPS
Owensboro 12, McLean County 3
Brennon Williams went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs, and the Red Devils (18-8) won their seventh game in a row with a big road victory over the Cougars (8-15).

Owensboro jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning with the help of the two-run blast by Williams, who also had an RBI double in the fourth inning. The Red Devils added five more runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Isaac Humphrey went 2-for-3, scored three times and drove in one run. Tucker Hagan and Trace Grenier each added a pair of hits. Hagan, Collier Higgs and Willams each scored twice, while Braxton French and Nick Belcher drove in two runs a piece.

James Rhineburger got the win, giving up three runs (one unearned) on five hits in 4.0 innings.

Ohio County 3, Owensboro Catholic 1
The Aces (16-13) had another tough day at the plate in a home loss to the Eagles (16-14). Ohio County scored a run in the first and another in the third before Catholic got on the board in the fifth inning.

Everett Munsey drew a leadoff walk and eventually scored on a single by Sam McFarland, but that was all the damage they could do. Hunter Small took the loss, allowing two runs on just four hits in 5.0 innings.

SOFTBALL RECAP
Hancock County 13, Owensboro 1 (5 innings)
The Lady Devils (2-18) fell into a big hole early and were never able to recover in a road loss to the Lady Hornets (21-7). Hancock County scored six runs in the first inning and added five more in the second.

Madyson Poole scored the only Owensboro run when Hadley Hughes grounded into a fielder’s choice. Kaylyn Sowders had a double for the Lady Devils.

Winning pitcher Hayley McFarling had two home runs, four RBIs and three runs.

TENNIS RECAP
Greenwood 8, Owensboro Catholic 1
The lone win in a road loss for the Owensboro Catholic boys’ team came from No. 1 singles player Nick Boarman.
